You left your phone in the car and you’re stuck at home because it’s raining outside, so you can’t even drive around looking for it. 

Or you’re at work, but your phone is at home charging on the kitchen counter... If you’ve ever lost your phone and have had to use Find My Phone to track it down again, 

you know how frustrating it can be to pinpoint its location when there are hundreds of miles between you and it. The good news?


Finding your iPhone with the ‘Find My Phone app

If you've lost your iPhone, don't worry! You can track it using the Find My Phone app. Just open the app and sign in with your Apple ID. 

Then select a device from the list of devices linked to your account. Once you've selected your device, you'll be able to see its current location on a map.


Locate an iPad or other Apple device

If you have an iPad or other Apple device, you can use the Find My Phone app to locate it. Then, select the device you want to locate from the list. 

If the device is nearby, you'll see its approximate location on a map. 

If the device is not nearby, you'll see the last known location and a notification that the device is offline.


Track a phone on Android

If you're using an iPhone 13 mini, you can use the Find My Phone feature to track it down. Just open the Find My Phone app and sign in with your Apple ID. 

Then select a device from the list of devices linked to your account.

 If your device is nearby, you'll see its location on the map. If it's not nearby, you'll see the last known location of your device.


Use another iOS device to locate your missing device

If you've lost your iPhone, don't panic. There's an app called Find My iPhone that can help you locate it. All you need is another iOS device, such as an iPad or iPod touch, and the Find My iPhone app. 

Once you have the app open, simply sign in with your Apple ID and password. Your missing device will then appear on a map. 

You can also use the Find My iPhone app to play a sound on your missing device, lock it remotely, or erase all its data.


Recover with iCloud 

If you've lost your iPhone or it's been stolen, you can use Apple's Find My iPhone feature to track it down. 

To do this, you'll need to have iCloud set up on your device. Once you've done that, open the Find My iPhone app and sign in with your Apple ID. 

From there, you can view a map of where your device is located. If it's nearby, you can choose to have it play a sound so you can find it.
